After a string of failed long-term relationships, Donny is ready to propose to his boyfriend, but is heartbroken when he gets dumped over text instead. He swears off men to focus on himself―his mental health, his job as a firefighter, and being there for his family. Maybe he’ll even pick up a new hobby. He certainly doesn’t need another romance, even if it comes in the form of Charles, the hot older actor shadowing him for a role. But Donny could use a friend this summer.

Charles can’t help but feel his best years are behind him. Once a famous action hero known as “Chuck Storm”, he’s afraid he’ll be remembered only as a cheesy has-been. When a prestige role as a firefighter comes up, it’s the spark his career needs. All he wants is to learn from Donny, but after spending time with him along the shores of Okanagan Lake, meeting his family, and getting to know more about fighting fires… he also wants to kiss him. Which wouldn’t be a bad idea, except Charles lives in LA and is just visiting for the summer. Plus, he’s too old and washed up for someone like Donny.

Together, through ride-alongs and family dinners and trips to local wineries, Charles and Donny kindle a friendship that could bloom into something more―if only the summer could last forever.
